Aimée’s interest in wellness and bodywork started young. Raised in Windsor in her childhood, she began learning yoga from her mother at a young age. After pursuing classes at her local studio, she was recruited by the founder to begin teaching yoga in 2004. In 2006 she received her diploma in yoga teacher training from Rama Lotus in Ottawa, after having completed their rigorous, anatomy-heavy curriculum.
Aimée has relied heavily upon the insights she gleaned from yoga practice and teaching to inform her knowledge of stretching, anatomy, stress-reduction techniques, breathwork, and self-care.
Aimée also has rounded out her interest in wellness with a passion for arts and the environment. She has a Bachelor’s degree in visual art, and has pursued graduate work in environmental studies.
After several years in the workforce, she realized she craved more one-on-one work in which she could achieve meaningful improvement in other’s quality of life. She decided to pursue massage therapy and hasn’t looked back. Upon graduating from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching clinic in 2011, she was chosen as class valedictorian and won Sutherland-Chan’s professional clinics award for academic excellence.
In her clinical work, Aimée is keenly interested in helping her clients by providing a nurturing approach centered around clients’ goals. Her continuing education includes dynamic postural assessment, hot stone massage therapy, and palliative care in massage. Aimée has an interest in the therapeutic qualities of essential oils, and often includes them in her treatment, if suitable. Aimée is sought after for pregnancy massage, working with young children and teens, those living with anxiety and depression; she is equally at home with athletes or the eldery, and finds working with musicians and artist to keep their bodies performing very rewarding. Aimée has extensive experience in working with women at all stages of breast cancer, and has achieved good outcomes in reducing scar tissue restrictions following surgery. Regardless of the reason for your visit, you can count on her to treat you as a whole person, with care, attentiveness, and proficiency.
Along with her fellow colleagues at Therapy Lounge, Aimée looks forward to ensuring you receive the highest possible quality of treatment.
