Fall Recipe: Warm Golden Almond Milk

By Melissa Macchione RHN

The main ingredient in this recipe is turmeric. Turmeric contains curcumin, the polyphenol identified as its primary active component and which exhibits 600 potential health benefits of turmeric – which include antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Adding black pepper to turmeric enhances curcumin’s bioavailability by 1,000 times increasing your body’s absorption of turmeric by 2000%. This is due to black pepper’s hot property called piperine.

I find having a cup before bedtime helps with my digestion and also is quite calming and grounding.
