Get Happy, Get Healthy… Get Outside!

The winter months are upon us. While the temptation may be to hibernate indoors during the colder weather, studies show just how beneficial it is to get outdoors and spend some time in nature, a local park or green space. So dress up this holiday season, take a break from the indulgences that often accompany this time of year and bring the social time outdoors. Return feeling fresher, happier and naturally more energized!

Spending time in nature influences our health and well-being in a positive way. Here are a few ideas to enhance the experience: practice mindful walking by being present to your surroundings and tune in to your senses, notice the beauty around you and take in the sights of the trees, the sound of the wind, the smell of the crisp air. Take a pause to watch children and dogs playing nearby and allow their joy to permeate your soul. Watch the sunrise or sunset and notice the sensations in your body. Try smiling and saying hello to the people who cross your path daily; by spreading a little love and compassion we will expand our hearts and make our communities a better place to be.

Thank you for being a part of our community, we are grateful to be part of your journey towards greater health and happiness.
