About
Dr. Larisa Shevchuk, DC — Chiropractor for Humans & Animals
Dr. Larisa Shevchuk’s journey in healthcare began as a Registered Nurse, where she dedicated ten years to caring for patients at Vancouver’s St. Paul’s Hospital in the Cardiac, ICU, Post-Anesthesia Recovery, and Medical units. After graduating with Honours from the University of Victoria, she initially intended to pursue medical school. However, her experiences in the hospital setting illuminated an important truth — that true healing extends beyond physical care to include prevention, mindset, and the powerful connection between body and spirit.
Motivated by this insight, Dr. Shevchuk shifted her focus and relocated to Toronto to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. There, she discovered her passion for a holistic approach to health — one that recognizes how an aligned spine and well-functioning joints optimize the nervous system, allowing individuals to thrive and live with vitality.
Now with over a decade of chiropractic experience, Dr. Shevchuk has built a thriving practice in Toronto’s Beaches community, where she balances her professional calling with her most cherished role — being a mother to two children. Her practice reflects her integrative philosophy, blending evidence-informed chiropractic care with insights from neuroscience, neuro-linguistic programming, mindfulness, and goal-oriented coaching.
Dr. Shevchuk’s treatments are personalized and deeply compassionate. She partners with her patients to help them release physical and emotional tension, overcome limiting beliefs, and create lasting patterns of health and resilience.
In addition to her human patients, Dr. Shevchuk also provides chiropractic care for animals — primarily dogs and cats, though her experience once even included adjusting a baby crocodile in Belize. Her belief is simple: anyone with a spine deserves to move freely and feel their best.
