Fall Recipe: Warm Golden Almond Milk
Fall Recipe: Warm Golden Almond Milk |
The main ingredient in this recipe is turmeric. Turmeric contains curcumin, the polyphenol identified as its primary active component and which exhibits 600 potential health benefits of turmeric – which include antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Adding black pepper to turmeric enhances curcumin’s bioavailability by 1,000 times increasing your body’s absorption of turmeric by 2000%. This is due to black pepper’s hot property called piperine. I find having a cup before bedtime helps with my digestion and also is quite calming and grounding. |
What you’ll need: 1 tsp turmeric ½ tsp ground cardamom ½ tsp ground cloves ½ tsp ground black pepper ½ tsp cinnamon ½ tsp ground ginger 1 tbsp sweetener (raw honey, maple syrup or agave nectar) 2 cups almond milk (get the recipe for my Homemade Almond Milk) What to do: Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl Warm almond milk on stovetop at a very low temperature for 2 mins.
