Therapy Lounge turns 10. Come get your Zen!

Therapy Lounge

Happy Fall! I hope you have been fallin’ in love with Therapy Lounge as much as I have while creating this dream over the past 10 years. I have put a lot of oil, sweat, tears, and heart into this journey for our team to keep you happy, healthy and feeling your best.

Our Top 10 that makes TL so Zen:

1- When you walk up our stairs and reach the top, POOF, there it is! That familiar Therapy Lounge “eau du Zen”. You take a deep breath in, the scent of relaxation enters your body immediately, you exhale, your body remembers. It thanks you for taking care of yourself.

2- We want you to feel at home. Our Lounge and 4 treatment rooms offer their own natural comforting atmosphere. You can come in early to just lounge in our comfy leather couch. Remove your shoes and coat, and make yourself feel at home. Enjoy a glass of water or a cup of tea before your treatment.

3- Therapy Lounge sounds a little sweeter these days with our new Sonos speakers. Customize your treatment with your choice of music. Whether you like the sounds of bubbling brooks, waterfalls and chirping birds, the acoustic singer-songwriter, the classical piano, Zen meditation, or to rock out as your knots get worked out. Let your practitioner know or download the Sonos app to your smart phone and you become the DJ.

4- With you and nature in mind we launder all of our linens with a hypoallergenic, environmentally-friendly orange peel extract detergent to scour out that oil and freshen the linens with no lingering perfumey odor. They come out crisp and clean. You should feel like you have landed on a cloud when you land on the table. No need to apologize for feeling sleepy – we take it as a compliment because we know you are well on your way to healing with your muscle twitches and the sounds of Darth Vader breathing, snoring and tummy gurgles (resting + digesting). All are encouraged.

5- Your body is meant to heal on its own. But sometimes is needs a little help from our healing hands for your body to activate your Parasympathetic Nervous System – your resting, digesting and healing state. And sometimes it also requires multiple of modalities and hands to get to the root of the problem. Our services complement each other, so by combining them together, your body will be on a fast path to recovery inside and out. You can mix and match Massage Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, Thai Massage, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy, SpiderTech™ Kinesiology Taping, Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture, Mindfulness Meditation, Osteopathy and Holistic Nutrition Counselling. These modalities are designed to decrease pain and tension in the body, mind and spirit.

6- Then to keep you floating on cloud nine post-treatment, take a cup to go of our TL custom blend tea to keep calm and feel zen when you enter back into the outside world. Our TL tea consists of peppermint, oatstraw, lavender, rose petals, rosehip, chamomile, and lemon balm. Enjoy!

7- We are a team of 11 diverse and passionate health practitioners who work together to create holistic and effective treatment plans while giving helpful self-care advice to keep you happy, healthy and feeling your best. Our practitioners are all so different, and so are our hands. So we encourage you to experience all of our healing hands and to find the right fit for you. Combined we have 87 years experience!

8- Be active in maintaining your health between treatments. To do so, we offer a few self-care products to use at home. EPSOM SALT: Epsom Salt has been used for centuries to ease our aches and pains. Epsom Salt is a compound of magnesium and sulfate. It is believed that magnesium and sulfate may be absorbed through the skin which would make an Epsom Salt bath a great way to replenish your body of the much-needed magnesium. A simple soak in the tub may help you feel better, increase circulation, relax muscles and loosen stiff joints. Consult with your physician before taking Epsom Salt baths if you are pregnant or have a medical condition. ANTI-FLAMME: Soothes strained muscles, joint aches, bumps, bruises and common sports injuries. It contains natural ingredients including pure herb extracts of Arnica, Hypericum, Calendula and Peppermint Oil. Not recommended for use during pregnancy. ARNICA CREAM: Contains more Arnica for more care. Soothes everyday bumps, bruises, aches and pains of children and adults alike. It contains 15% Arnica oil and no peppermint, so it’s safe to use for infants and pregnant women. You can also check out our STRETCH BLOG for a list to head to toe stretches and exercises.

9- To give you peace of mind and more money in your pocket, all of our services are covered under most extended health plans. If you are a teacher, holistic nutrition is now covered under your new health care plan. Check with your insurance company to maximize your health. If you don’t use it, you lose it. Your muscles have memory and they respond well to maintenance.

10- Our convenient online booking allows you to request an appointment with us, anytime and any place. You wake up in the middle of the night with a kink in your neck, no problem, you can check our schedule for our next availability. Download the MINDBODY app to your smart phone for an even faster booking experience. We offer flexible (morning, afternoon and evening) hours and we are open 7 days a week.

We have made this milestone because of all your trust, support and loyalty over the years. I thank each and every one of you from the tip of my fingers to the bottom of my heart.
